Cold days bring in cravings of chili, soup and stews. This chili is the result of what I had in my pantry.

Ingredients For beef chili

  • 1 lb
    beef, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 lg
    onion, coarsely chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    tomato paste
  • 1 can
    diced tomatoes, with chilis, undrained
  • 1 can
    black beans, drained, rinced
  • 1 can
    red kidney beans, undrained
  • 1 pkg
    chili seasoning
  • 1 c
    water

How To Make beef chili

    In a dutch oven heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil . Salt and pepper beef and toss with flour. Add to pot and brown beef all over. Add onions, garlic and tomato paste. Stir and cook for a few minutes.

    Add water, diced tomatoes, black beans, kidney beans, and chili seasoning. Bring to a boil and lower heat. Slow simmer until beef and beans are tender. The longer the better.
