beef and green bean casserole

My family & I love casseroles & this is one of our favorites. It's an easy but tasty comfort food dish to make on a busy day. Note: For a spicier version you can add a drained can of tomatoes with green chilies.

Ingredients For beef and green bean casserole

2 Tbspbutter
-
1 lbground beef
-
1/2 cchopped onions
-
6-8 ozfresh sliced mushrooms

16 ozfrozen green beans, thawed

8 ozsharp shredded cheese
-
2 tspbeef flavored soup base or bouillon
-
1/2 cboiling water
-
salt and pepper to taste
How To Make beef and green bean casserole

1Preheat oven to 350*. In a large skillet, brown beef, onions & mushrooms in butter. Drain.

2In small bowl combine beef soup base (or bouillon if using) into ½ cup boiling water stirring until dissolved. Add to beef & mushrooms.

3Stir in frozen green beans & cook on medium heat for about 5 mins. or until contents are heated through. Salt & pepper to taste .

4Pour into greased shallow baking pan, sprinkle cheese over top. Bake, uncovered in a 350* oven for 30 minutes until bubbly and brown.
