Ingredients For smoked cheese and onion pizza

2 mdonions, thinly sliced

1 Tbspbutter or margarine

1 Tbspolive oil
-
1 Tbspbrown sugar
-
1 Tbspbalsamic vinegar

1/4 cpitted whole dates, chopped
-
1/4 cpine (pignoli) nuts or slivered almonds
-
1/2 cshredded mozzarella cheese
-
1/2 cshredded smoked cheddar cheese
-
1/2 cshredded smoked gouda cheese

1boboli pizza shell
How To Make smoked cheese and onion pizza

1Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

2In large skillet, cook onion in butter and oil over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3Stir in sugar, vinegar and dates. Cook and stir for 5 minutes more or until onions are golden brown.

4Remove from heat and stir in nuts.

5In a bowl, combine cheeses; sprinkle evenly over pizza shell. Top with onion mixture.

6Place shell on an ungreased baking sheet or place directly on a pizza stone in oven.

7Bake for 8 minutes or until cheese is melted. Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting (if you can wait that long.) Can be cut into squares or rectangles.
