My family and I love this sauce. We serve it with a big focaccia, salad and fruit. nice light summer dinner. And, after all, who doesn't love the joy of eating "Street walker spaghetti"?

Ingredients For puttanesca sauce

2 Tbspolive oil

1onion, finely chopped

6garlic
-
1 Tbspanchovy paste
-
3 Tbsptomato paste
-
1 ckalamata olives, black olives and green olives mixed

3 Tbspcapers
-
2 can28 oz diced tomatoes with liquid

1/2 tspdried basil
-
salt and pepper, to taste

1/2 tspred pepper flakes

1 lbspaghetti
How To Make puttanesca sauce

1In a large pot heat the olive oil over medium high heat.

2Add the onion and saute until soft and lightly caramelized, about 6 minutes.

3Add the garlic, tomato paste and anchovy paste and cook an additional 2 minutes.

4Add the tomatoes and the remaining ingredients and simmer until the sauce is thickened and slightly reduced, about 40 minutes. Adjust seasonings.

5Toss sauce with cooked pasta.
