pizza calzones
This is the way we make pizza calzones at the school cafeteria I work at and we sell out every time we make them! The pre-made dough we get at school is round and that is the only difference between me making them at home. I know from school lunches that my kids would love these but it was a treat for my DH and he gave it 2 thumbs up. No leftovers! I want to add that the calzones are very big and filling. There are endless possibilities for what you can stuff the calzones with. Sausage would be good, as well as green peppers or anything you like on your pizza.
Blue Ribbon Recipe
This is a very easy way to make calzones. I really liked her tip of using parchment paper and cornmeal to spread the dough. Get creative and use different fillings your family enjoys, but her suggestions are really good. The garlic butter is really good on the dough and sprinkling the oregano and red pepper flakes is the perfect topping.
