Ingredients For nonna rosa's homemade pizza

  • 1 Tbsp
    brewer's yeast
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    warm water
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    olive oil
  • 1/2 c
    marinara sauce
  • 1/4 c
    thin sliced green bell pepper
  • 1/4 c
    thin sliced red or white onion
  • 1/4 c
    cooked italian sausage
  • 1 c
    mixed cheeses (i use grated parm/cheddar and fontina)
  • 1 1/2 c
    all purpose flour

How To Make nonna rosa's homemade pizza

    In large mixing bowl combine yeast and sugar and warm water. Let sit for 3 minutes then add olive oil and flour and mix to form dough. Cover lightly with towel and set aside.

    Thin chop vegetables and grate cheeses. Remove dough from bowl and shape on baking stone or pizza pan into 12-14 inch circle. Stretch dough thin for a crisper crust.

    Top dough circle with marinara sauce/veggies and meat then top this with cheeses. Can sprinkle a dash of garic/basil or oregano on top for extra flavor. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. Crust will rise and cheese will bubble and turn golden. Enjoy!
