This recipe was given to me many years ago by a friend...She is a true Italian...this has been in her family for many years. I love to use this in my baked Ziti...I hope you will enjoy this recipe....

Ingredients For jodie's italian sauce

1 lbground sirloin

1 lbitalian sausage, no casings

2 lgtomatoes, canned and cut up

4 cantomato paste, italian

4 clovegarlic minced

salt and pepper to taste

1 Tbspsweet basil, fresh

How To Make jodie's italian sauce

1Brown: Sausage, ground sirloin, and garlic, push to side away from grease. Brown: Tomato paste in grease for 3 minutes. Blend tomatoes to thin paste then add meat to sauce.

2then add the same amount of water using the tomato cans to mixture. Add salt and pepper to mixture to taste, and sweet basil, stir every so often.

3Let boil for 10 minutes. Put burner on simmer for 3 to 4 hours......
