Ingredients For gourmet spaghetti - part 3 - tomato sauce

  • TOMATO SAUCE
  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 2
    carrots, chopped
  • 2
    celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 lg
    yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/2
    green pepper, chopped
  • 2 clove
    garlic, crushed
  • 3 c
    canned tomato sauce
  • 3/4 c
    beef stock (1 1/2 teas. beef bouillion cubes with 3/4 cup water)
  • 3/4 c
    red wine
  • 1 tsp
    rosemary
  • 1 tsp
    basil
  • 1 tsp
    oregano
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    lemon peel, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make gourmet spaghetti - part 3 - tomato sauce

  • 1
    Saute carrots, celery, onion, green pepper and garlic in oil until lightly colored. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer altogether, covered for 1 hr. (For regular spaghetti sauce: Add 1 lb. hamburger and 2-3 links of Italian sausage)

    Serve Gourmet Spaghetti over cooked spaghetti noodles and top with fresh shredded or grated parmesan cheese.
