Nothing like a fresh mushroom pizza. Very earthy tasting. I always sprinkle a little crushed red hot pepper flakes on top to give it a bite.

Ingredients For easy deep dish fresh mushroom pizza

  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 pt
    refrigerated pizza dough ball, room temp.
  • 1/2 c
    marinara sauce, i used prego
  • 1/4 lb
    mozzarella cheese, sliced thin
  • 1/4 lb
    fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • hot pepper flakes, optional

How To Make easy deep dish fresh mushroom pizza

    Heat oven to 500. Using a paper towel, oil the bottom and sides of a lg cast iron skillet. On lightly floured surface, shape dough w/ hands, into a circle, a few inches larger than skillet.

    Place dough in pan, gently press dough up the sides of pan. Spread sauce across dough. Top w/ cheese and mushrooms. sprinkle w/ red pepper flakes, if using.

    Bake 20 mins, or until cheese is melted and bubbly, and crust is browned. Transfer to cutting board. Slice into wedges.
