All time favorite dish and the sauce tastes so much better than the stuff in the jar. You can even add bacon or pancetta and sliced mushrooms in step 2 to vary the recipe.

Ingredients For creamy fettuccine alfredo

  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 c
    whipping cream
  • 2 c
    parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 box
    fettuccine pasta
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • fresh basil leaves

How To Make creamy fettuccine alfredo

  • 1
    Place butter in a large heat proof bowl. Using an electric mixer set on low speed, beat until smooth. Add the cream and parmesan cheese. Stir until blended; set aside.

    Bring large saucepan of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package directions. Drain well and immediately add the hot pasta to the butter mixture in large bowl. Using 2 forks, toss the fettuccine int he butter mixture to coat well. Add salt and pepper. Shred basil and top each serving with it, serve immediately.
