Ingredients For shrimp creole

  • 1 1/2 lb
    deveined shrimp
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    bacon grease
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/2 c
    chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 c
    chopped celery
  • 8 oz can
    tomato sauce
  • 16 oz
    can of petite diced tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp
    basil
  • 4 clove
    minced garlic
  • 4 dash
    of tabassco sauce (more or less to your liking)
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 c
    rice, cooked

How To Make shrimp creole

  • 1
    Heat the bacon grease and saute the trinity (celery, green pepper and onions) until tender. Add the flour, this will thicken the sauce. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 25 mins
  • 2
    Add the shrimp and simmer for 10 more mins. Serve over cooked rice with crusty bread.
