This recipe was copied from a FoodNetwork post in 2009. It said the recipe was courtesy Martha Nesbit. It was passed to me by a friend we cook it for special get togethers or holiday treat and we say it is family tested and good.

Ingredients For shrimp and grits

4 cwater

salt and pepper

1 cstone ground grits

3 Tbspbutter, cold

2 csharp cheddar cheese

1 lbshrimp, peeled and deveined

6 slicebacon chopped

4 tsplemon juice

2 Tbspchopped parsley

1 cthin sliced scaillions

1 lgclove of garlic minced
How To Make shrimp and grits

1Bring water to boil and cook grits until done add 3 tbls butter and 2 cups cheese stir until mixed

2In a large skillet fry the bacon remove from the pan to drain. Put the shrimp into the grease and fry until pink. Remove from skillet and add the scaillions, garlic, lemon juice and parsley to grease and cook til tender.

3Add all the ingredients to the grits stir in well and serve.
