rich & creamy tuna casserole

This is one of our favorite casseroles! It’s creamy and so easy to make, and it tastes so rich. For the picture, I used small bow tie pasta, and Ritz crackers to top the casserole.

Ingredients For rich & creamy tuna casserole

  • 1 lb
    penne pasta, or pasta of choice
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/2 sm
    onion, chopped
  • 2 stalk
    celery, chopped
  • 1 can
    solid white tuna in water, including liquid
  • 1 can
    light tuna in oil, drained
  • 2 can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 c
    evaporated milk
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    sour cream
  • 1 can
    mushroom slices, partially drained
  • 1 Tbsp
    parsley flakes
  • 1 1/2 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 c
    italian seasoned bread crumbs, or 1 sleeve of ritz crackers, buttered & crushed

How To Make rich & creamy tuna casserole

    Preheat oven to 325. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain.

    Spray 9x13 dish, or large casserole, with cooking spray.

    Saute onions & celery in the butter until softened.

    In a large bowl, combine the tuna, and the remainder of ingredients, except bread crumbs/crackers.

    Combine pasta with tuna/soup mixture. Spoon into 9x13 dish, or large casserole, and top with bread crumbs or crushed Ritz crackers.

    Bake for about 30 mins, or until casserole is bubbly and golden browned. Enjoy.

    ** If Freezing: Leave off the bread crumbs until ready to bake.
