Mel and Marlene are my next door neighbors. This is one of his recipes. He loves to barbeque. All I got to do now, is talk him into taking me fishing, so I can try the recipe.

Ingredients For mel's saucy barbecued trout

  • 3 to 4
    trout, cleaned
  • 2 Tbsp
    mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp
    soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    dill weed
  • 2 Tbsp
    margarine
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    seasoning salt
  • 1 tsp
    vegetable flakes
  • 2 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/3 c
    chopped onion

How To Make mel's saucy barbecued trout

    Make a boat large enough out of heavy aluminum foil to hold fish head to tail alternately on their backs.

    In saucepan, melt margarine; add rest of ingredients, except onions. Heat just enough to mix ingredients. Line cavity of fish with onions an pour sauce evenly over and in cavities. Cover and refrigerate for several hours. Barbecue in the foil on medium heat for 1/2 hour or until fish flakes.
