My Dad was a legendary fisherman. When he came home with nice big catfish we would all help get supper ready fast. Those fresh fish were so good...... This recipe was Mom's favorite way to prepare catfish.

1egg, lightly beaten

2 Tbsplemon juice

1/2 cflour

1/4 cyellow cornmeal

1/2 tspeach salt, pepper, garlic salt

4catfish fillets

3 Tbspvegetable oil
How To Make fresh catfish with a cornmeal crust

1In a shallow bowl, combine the egg and lemon juice. In another shallow bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, pepper, garlic powder and salt. Dip catfish into egg mixture, then coat with cornmeal mixture.

2In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Fry fillets, two at a time, for 5-6 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Serve with tartar sauce and lemon wedges.
