Found this in a open fire cook book. But I made a few changes. what was good. Is now better..

Ingredients For creole shrimp.

  • 1/2 lb
    bacon
  • 1 1/2 lb
    shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2
    onions,chopped
  • 2 clove
    garlic,chopped
  • 1/2
    each green,red,and yellow pepper,chopped.
  • 2
    celery stalks,chopped
  • 1 can
    stewing tomatoes.
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili power
  • 6
    drops hot sauce.
  • 10 oz
    mushrooms, whole,chopped.your choice

How To Make creole shrimp.

    In a deep 12" cast iron skillet cook bacon till chrisp. Remove from skillet. Crumble and set a side. In the bacon drippings add onoin,garlic,and peppers. Cook till onions are clear.

    Add tomatoes,celery,chili power,hot sauce,A dash of salt and black pepper. Simmer for 5-10 min. Now add shrimp and mushrooms. Cover simmer for 15-20 min. Remove lid, top with bacon. Serve over cooked rice.
