This is an awesome recipe and one I go to every Summer... This is a Ted Reader recipe and Ted is King of The Q. Love his recipes and all his planking recipes!! I've included the recipes for the bbq spice and the planking spice which keeps in a container for up to 4 months. Feel free to use your favs. *Not my pic

Ingredients For cedar-planked salmon

1medium plank soaked in water for at least one hour but better if 2 or 3hours.i put mine in the kitchen sink and then i put a heavy can in plastic bag and weigh it down

4skinless salmon fillets about 6 oz each

1 cfresh dill, chopped
-
2 Tbspbbq spice (see below)
-
1/2 cshallots, chopped
-
2 clovegarlic, minced
-
2green onions,finely chopped
-
2 Tbspplanking spice (see below)
-
1lemon , juiced
-
2 Tbspolive oil
-
sea salt
-
1lemon
- BONEDUST BBQ SEASONING

1/2 cpaprika
-
1/4 cchili powder
-
3 Tbspsalt
-
2 Tbspground coriander
-
2 Tbspgarlic powder
-
2 Tbspsugar
-
2 Tbspcurry powder

2 Tbspdry mustard powder

1 Tbspblack pepper
-
1 Tbspdried basil
-
1 Tbspdried thyme
-
1 Tbspground cumin

1 Tbspcayenne pepper
- PLANKING SPICE

1/2 clight brown sugar
-
1/4 ccoarsely ground pepper

1/4 ckosher salt
-
2 Tbspmustard seeds cracked
-
1 Tbspdried dill weed
-
1 Tbspdill seed
-
1 Tbspcoriander seed
-
1 Tbsplemon pepper seasoning
-
3 Tbspgranulated onion powder
-
2 tspgranulated garlic powder
How To Make cedar-planked salmon

1Preheat your grill to medium -high. Season salmon with BBQ seasoning and set aside. Mix together the dill, shallots, garlic, green onions, planking spice, lemon juice, and olive oil. Spread the mixture evenly over the salmon fillets. Season the plank with sea salt and place on grill and close the lid. Heat for 3 - 5 mins till the plank starts to crackle. Open lid and place the salmon fillets on the plank. Close the lid and plank-grill for 12 - 15 mins until cooked or until salmon flakes . Remove plank from grill and allow to cool one minute. Squeeze the lemon over top and serve.

2* There are so many flavored planks out there... oak, maple, cherry or apple ...so don't just stick to cedar..Apple is so good..my fav!! *If your plank catches fire which it can and I have had this happen, spray with a spray water bottle...be careful of not spraying the salmon.
