This is an excellent way to prepare fresh red snapper. It's traditionally served with Cajun-style Red Beans and Rice.

Ingredients For cajun style red snapper fillet

    red snapper fillets (or 1 1/2 to 2 lb snapper, cleaned and cut into 4 pieces
  • 2 Tbsp
    all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    cajun seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh italian (flat-leaf) parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    unsalted butter
  • 1
    green onion, chopped

How To Make cajun style red snapper fillet

    Rinse fish and pat dry; set aside.

    In a shallow dish, stir together the flour, Cajun season, parsley, salt and pepper. Dredge each fillet in the flour mixture.

    Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add coated fillets, skin side down, in the hot butter. Cook 4 to 5 minutes or until skin is crisp. Using a spatula, carefully turn fillets and cook other side another 3 to 4 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

    Garnish with chopped green onion, and serve alongside your favorite Cajun-style Red Beans and Rice.
