A fluffy and tasty coating for fish. Please note that batter needs to be refrigerated for a couple of hours before it is used.

Ingredients For beer batter for fish

  • 2
    eggs, separated
  • 3/4 c
    beer, at room temperature
  • 2 tsp
    vegetable oil
  • 3/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    table salt

How To Make beer batter for fish

    Place flour in mixing bowl.
  • 2
    Add egg yolks, salt, vegetable oil and beer. Stir together until thoroughly mixed.

    Cover, and place in refrigerator for 2 hours.

    Just before using, stir batter.

    In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff but NOT dry.

    Gently fold beaten egg whites into cold batter.

    Coat pieces of fish, and fry in 360 degree oil until pieces float.
