One of my personal favorites, because it's so easy to make. And you can adjust the seasoning to your liking of spiciness! I usually serve this w/ my biscuit herbed onion bread. They go well together!

Ingredients For bayou gumbo

1 stickbutter.

1 cchopped onion.

1 csliced celery
-
1green bell pepper, chopped.

1 tspminced garlic
-
2 Tbspflour
-
1 tspchlili powder
-
1 tspsalt
-
1/8 tspcajun seasoning
-
214.5 oz cans diced tomatoes w/ chiles, undrained
-
1 cfrozen okra, thawed
-
1 cwater
-
1 lblg shrimp, peeled, deveined.
How To Make bayou gumbo

1In lg pot or dutch oven, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, celery, green bell pepper and garlic. Cook, stirring, until tender. Stir in flour, chili powder, salt and cajun seasonings. Cook 1 min. Add tomatoes, okra and water. Simmer for 10 min. Add shrimp, cook 5 min, or until pink.
