This is another recipe that I tried out of the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. Made a few tweaks. Another way of getting fish into our diets. Thaw fish, before starting recipe. Time is not included in prep time.

Ingredients For baked fish with herbs

thaw fish ahead of time; not included in prep time.

cooking spray

1 lbfrozen fish, thawed (haddock, halibut, or cod)

1 Tbspbutter or margarine
-
1 c1% or 2% milk
-
2 Tbspall-purpose flour
-
1/4 tspsalt or to taste

1/8 tspground black pepper
-
1/4 tspgarlic powder or to taste

1 dashdried oregano, crushed
-
1/8 tspdried thyme, crushed

1/4 cchopped green onion

How To Make baked fish with herbs

1Thaw fish ahead of time; not part of prep time. Lightly dry off with paper towels.

2Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 10 x 6 x 1 1/2 inch baking dish with cooking spray.

3Place thawed and dried off fish in prepared baking dish. Dot fish fillets with 1 Tb. butter, divided over all.

4Thoroughly blend milk and flour, in small to medium saucepan. Cook, and stir over medium heat, until sauce thickens and bubbles. Cook, and stir, 1 minute longer. Stir in all other ingredients.

5Pour sauce over fish. Sprinkle lightly with paprika. Bake, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes.
