Ingredients For baked fish au gratin

  • 1 lb
    frozen fish fillets (cod, ocean perch, halibut or flounder)
  • 2 Tbsp
    fine cracker crumbs
  • 1 can
    (14 oz.) stewed tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped onion
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/4 to 1/2 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded

How To Make baked fish au gratin

  • 1
    Thaw fillets as directed on package.
  • 2
    Grease a 1-qt. shallow baking dish and sprinkle with the cracker crumbs. Lay the fillets on top of crumbs.

    In a medium bowl, combine tomatoes, onion, salt and pepper. Pour over fillets. Dot with butter and cheese.

    Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 35 minutes, until the fish "flakes" when pierced with a fork.
