My sister-in-law gave me this recipe. My husband doesn't normally like any chili that's white or has chicken in it (he says it's not natural- lol!)However, he loved this version! So this one is a keeper!

Ingredients For white chicken chili

  • 1 lb
    cooked chicken, diced (i used rotisserie chicken)
  • 1
    onion, diced
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 31 oz
    great northern beans. drained and rinsed
  • 14 1/2 oz
    chicken broth
  • 8 oz
    canned green chilies
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 8 oz
    sour cream or greek yogurt
  • 1/2 c
    whipping cream
  • TOPPINGS:
  • avocado
  • sour cream
  • monterey jack cheese
  • crushed tortilla chips
  • fresh cilantro

How To Make white chicken chili

  • 1
    Saute onions and garlic powder in olive oil until softened. Add chicken, beans, broth, chilies, salt, cumin, oregano, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.

    Remove from heat, stir in sour cream and whipping cream. Heat slightly and serve.
  • White Chicken Chili with a little avocado, Monterey Jack cheese, and crushed tortilla chips...mmmmmmm!

    *Serve with your choice of topping but is very good with all the ones listed above.
