I'm not sure where this recipe originated, probably Taste of Home. I have been making it for many years & my family always enjoyed it. My daughter now cooks it for her family.

Ingredients For slow-cooked oriental chicken

1broiler/fryer chicken(3-4 lbs)cut up (i prefer drumsticks & thighs)

2 Tbspvegetable oil

1/3 csoy sauce
-
2 Tbspbrown sugar
-
2 Tbspwater
-
1 clovegarlic, minced
-
1 tspground ginger
-
1/4 calmonds, slivered
How To Make slow-cooked oriental chicken

1In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the chicken in oil on both sides Transfer to a slow cooker.

2Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic & ginger; pour over chicken.

3Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Reduce heat to low; cook 4-5 hours longer or until meat juices run clear. Remove chicken to serving platter; sprinkle with almonds. Spoon juices over chicken or thicken if desired.
