I love getting this dish at chinese restaurants, but wanted it to be healthier, so I made this. I do have a recipe for the fried type, but this is just as good.

Ingredients For slow-cooked general tsaos chicken

4boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1/2 cwater
-
3 Tbsphoisin sauce
-
2 Tbsplight soy sauce
-
1/2 clight brown sugar
-
3 Tbspketchup
-
1`/4 tspground ginger
-
1/2 tspcrushed, hot red pepper flakes

1 Tbspcornstarch
-
2 Tbsptoasted sesame seeds

hot cooked rice
How To Make slow-cooked general tsaos chicken

1In bowl, whisk together hoisin and soy sauces, brown sugar, ketchup, ginger and crushed red pepper flakes, pour water over all.

2Pour sauce into slow cooker. Add chicken and stir to coat chicken. Cook, covered 4-6 hrs, or until chicken is cooked through. Remove chicken from cooker.

3Cut chicken into chunks. Whisk cornstarch into sauce in cooker until thickened. Put chicken back into cooker. Cook 15 mins more, or until hot. Spoon over rice, sprinkle w/ sesame seeds.
