If you are lucky enough to have plum trees, this is a great recipe to use them in. I have found I enjoy fruit quite often on the grill, with chicken or fish.

-
2/3 cwater
-
1/4 csoy sauce
-
1/4 cdry sherry
-
2 Tbspsugar
-

-

How To Make skewered chicken and plums
-
1Cut the chicken into 1/2 inch strips. Place in a large shallow dish or large ziplock bag. Set aside.
-
2Combine the water, soy sauce, sherry, sugar, minced ginger, and cornstarch in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the mixture is slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Let cool.
-
3Pour the water mixture over the chicken and marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
-
4Meanwhile, soak the wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes so they do not burn on the grill.
-
5Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade. Alternate the chicken strips and plum halves on the skewer.
-
6Grill, uncovered over medium-high coals (350 to 400 degrees) for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the chicken is done, turning once. Baste with the reserved marinade up to 4 minutes before chicken is done.
