shortcut chicken parmesan

This recipe is so quick and easy, but also so very delicious. It's always been one of my grandkids' favorites. Simply bake some chicken strips, pour spaghetti sauce over them, throw some cheese on top and bake for a few more minutes. Viola! Your main dish is ready. Just serve with garlic Texas toast and a small green salad or steamed broccoli on the side (and a glass of Chianti for the adults, lol!) (P.S.) Just remember, the better your ingredients are, the better the finished product will be.

-
3Place chicken pieces in prepared dish, sides touching, using as many pieces as will fit, to make a single layer.
-
4Bake in preheated oven according to package time and temperature (my favorite brand, Perdue, bakes at 425 for 20 minutes.)

6Scatter 1 heaping cup of shredded mozzarella over chicken and sauce.
-
7Sprinkle 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese over all.
-
8Return dish to oven set at 425 degrees F ; bake for additional 7 to 8 minutes, until cheese is melted and beginning to bubble.
-
9Meanwhile, warm the remaining sauce in the microwave (covered) or in a small pan on the stove, for serving with the chicken, if desired.
-
10Garnish with fresh basil, if desired. Serve immediately. Cover and refrigerate leftovers.
