I have quite a few recipes for fried chicken, but this is my all-time favorite. It has a little spice to it, which I love.

Ingredients For sherry's favorite fried chicken

  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1-1/2 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 1-1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 Tbsp
    paprika
  • 1/2 tsp
    poultry seasoning
  • 2
    egg yolks, beaten
  • 1-1/2 c
    beer, or water
  • 1 qt
    canola oil, for frying
  • 1-1/3 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 3 lb
    chicken pieces

How To Make sherry's favorite fried chicken

    In bowl, mix together 3 cups flour, garlic salt, 1-1/2 tsp pepper, paprika and poultry seasoning. In another bowl, stir together 1-1/3 cups flour, salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, egg yolks and beer or water, mix well. If batter is too thick, thin out w/ more beer or water.

    Heat oil in lg, deep skillet or a fryer until hot. Moisten each chicken piece w/ a little water. Dip chicken into dry flour mix, then dip into batter, then into dry mix again.

    Carefully place chicken in oil. Fry about 15-18 mins. Drain on paper towels.
