This is so good. I tried many different combinations of Asian ingredients to replicate sesame chicken and this one is the best.

Ingredients For sesame chicken

  • 10
    boneless skinless chicken thighs cut into chunks
  • 1/4 c
    soy sauce
  • 1 lg
    egg beaten
  • 1/2 c
    white rice flour
  • oil for deep frying
  • SAUCE
  • 1 c
    cornstarch
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 8 clove
    garlic minced
  • 2 Tbsp
    ginger grated
  • 2 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1 c
    soy sauce
  • 1/2 c
    rice vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    shaoxing wine or dry sherry
  • 2 c
    chicken broth
  • 1/2 dash
    mirin
  • 4 Tbsp
    oyster sauce
  • sesame seeds

How To Make sesame chicken

    Mix the ingredients for the sauce together and set aside For the chicken heat the oil until 350 degrees. Mix the egg and soy sauce together. Pour over chicken pieces. Sprinkle the rice flour over the chicken and mix well.

    Deep fry the chicken in batches until done about 3 minutes.

    Place the sauce ingredients in a large pot. Bring to a boil and let thicken. Stir in the chicken. Serve with rice and sprinkled with sesame seeds.
