This new oven-fried chicken recipe I created. It is filled with root beer, and it is great for making sandwiches.

Ingredients For root beer oven-fried chicken

  • 1 1/2 c
    chilled root beer
  • 3/4 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 8
    skinless and boneless, chicken breast halves
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 3 tsp
    Italian seasoning
  • 1 1/2 c
    crushed Corn Flakes cereal
  • 1 c
    Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp
    dried crushed thymes

How To Make root beer oven-fried chicken

    Pour the root beer, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and pepper into a resealable plastic bag. Add the chicken breasts. Coat with the marinade. Squeeze out excess air and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.

    In a medium bowl, combine flour and Italian seasoning, and mix well with a fork.

    Place the crushed Corn Flake cereal in another resealable plastic bag and crush them into fine crumbs. Add Panko bread crumbs and themes and mix thoroughly.

    Remove the chicken pieces from the marinade. Pour the marinade into the large mixing bowl and set aside.

    Dip the chicken pieces with the flour mixture; mix well. Dip them dip them back into the remaining marinade.

    Place them into the bag of Corn Flake crumbs mixture and shake to coat well.

    Place the chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, until chicken juices run clear and the top is browned and crunchy.
