really good bbq

This is a recipe that was handed down to my mom by my Irish grandma. My dad came from a large family, and grandma would make this during the Depression. This was an easy recipe to make that fed a lot, and wasn't too expensive to make. My grandma would use any leftover meat that they had on hand. I'm told she even used pot roast, or sausage. My mom likes to make the BBQ sauce and use it for other recipes, too.

1 Tbspprepared mustard (yellow mustard)
-
1 Tbspapple cider vinegar
-
1 Tbspsugar (brown sugar is good, too)
-
1 cketchup
-
1 smonion, chopped
-
1/4 tspground cloves
How To Make really good bbq
-
1In a large skillet brown the meat and onions, drain off excess fat.
-
2Combine all other ingredients and pour over meat mixture. Stir to combine.
-
3Over a low heat, simmer BBQ for 30-45 minutes. This can be made ahead of time and warmed up the next day. It's actually better when you do this because the flavors tend to marry overnight. I like to make this and then freeze it for a later date!
