Ingredients For quick stir fry by bates

  • 1 or 2
    boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 1/2 pkg
    broccoli slaw mix (prepackaged)
  • 3
    green onions, cut into 1" strips incl. green part
  • 1 Tbsp
    sesame oil or olive oil
  • 1 tsp
    hoisin sauce
  • 3 Tbsp
    soy sauce, dark
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1 sm
    can water chestnuts, chopped

How To Make quick stir fry by bates

    In wok, cast iron or other heavy skillet, heat oil until it begins to smoke While oil is heating, cut chicken breast into long thin strips

    Once oil begins to smoke, dump chicken into oil and cook for about 3-4 minutes stirring so all sides will be browned Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and ginger and continue stirring Add vegetables and continue cooking for about 2 more minutes Add water chestnuts at the last minute

    NOTES: You don't have to worry about salting because soy and hoisin sauce have salt in them. Get the slaw mix with snap peas if you can find it, but it is not necessary You can also use thin sliced round steak cut into strips or shrimp in place of chicken breasts

    Pour over cooked steamed rice and enjoy. In ten to fifteen minutes, you have a meal.with very little effort.
