I would make this recipe for any friends that had a baby or some surgery. It was always a big hit and so easy to prepare. Makes a nice showing, just be sure to warn them that there are toothpicks holding the breasts together. One of my family's favorites.

Ingredients For provalone chicken

  • 4
    chicken breast halves, skinless and boneless
  • 4 slice
    provalone cheese
  • 4 slice
    virginia ham (deli sliced)
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 1 c
    italian bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c
    romano cheese, grated ( fresh is better than the green stuff)

How To Make provalone chicken

    Pre heat oven to 350*. Pound chicken breasts to flatten. add 1 slice ham and 1 slice of provalone cheese to each breast. Roll up and hold together with a couple of toothpicks.

    dip each breast into the butter and roll in bread crumbs. Place on a sprayed baking pan. sprinkle each breast with a small amount of the shredded ramano cheese.

    Bake in 350* oven for aprox. 45 minutes till lightly browned and cheese is melting out the sides. (Juices flow clear)
