Dad just loves my beef stew! I have a secret to thickening my stew. This time thought it would be nice serving this to Dad in a skillet.

Ingredients For pork-n-beef crockpot to skillet stew w/biscuits

  • 1 lb
    beef stew meat
  • 1 lb
    pork chops bone in
  • 4 c
    beef stock
  • 2 c
    vegetable stock
  • 1 c
    cola
  • 2 c
    water
  • 2 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    pepper
  • 2
    celery stalk cut
  • 3
    carrots, cubed
  • 1 sm
    shallots cut
  • 2
    garlic cloves
  • 1
    15oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 lg
    potatoes cubed
  • 3 c
    vegetables of choice used fresh corn and greenbeens
  • 1/4 c
    potato mix (for thickening)
  • BISCUITS
  • homemade or store bought
  • dried rosemary
  • garlic powder
  • melted butter

How To Make pork-n-beef crockpot to skillet stew w/biscuits

    Put first 12 ingredients in crockpot, set on low. Slow cook for four hours. Remove bone from pork and discard, chopping pork and returning to crockpot.

    Next add rest of ingredients. Continue to slow cook for another 4 hours. Check for seasoning.

    To serve I put in small cast iron skillet with 3 biscuits brush with melted butter and sprinkled with garlic and rosemary. Baked in 400 degree oven for 5-7 min. Till golden brown. Serve in skillet.
