Another recipe from the great state of Hawaii. My best friend goes there at least twice a year to visit friends and always brings back a great recipe or two to share.

Ingredients For polynesian chicken wings

  • 1 pkg
    onion soup mix
  • 1/4 c
    oil
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    light brown sugar
  • 1 c
    soy sauce
  • 1/4 c
    ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp
    sesame oil
  • 3 lb
    chicken wing drummettes
  • 1 md
    red pepper , cut into one inch squares
  • 1 md
    yellow pepper, cut into one inch squares
  • 1 can
    pineapple chunks , drained..ten and a half ounces
  • 1/2 c
    sesame seeds

How To Make polynesian chicken wings

    Combine first five ingredients in a small saucepan and simmer over medium heat for about ten minutes. Cool.

    Wash chicken and pat dry. Place in a large resealable plastic bag and add marinade. Seal and shake, making sure everything is coated evenly. Place in the refrigerator for at least six hours, turning several times.

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat a thirteen by nine inch baking dish with non stick spray. Remove chicken from marinade and place in dish. Stir in peppers and pineapple. Bake until chick en is golden brown, about forty minutes, turning half way through cooking time. Sprinkle with sesame seeds to garnish. May be served hot or at room temperature.
