Mmmmmmm is for Mom! This was the most difficult recipe to rewrite so people can understand. She wrote it so she understood it - while she is not around to ask. I think I did a pretty good job writing it so it's kind of understandable. I posted pictures of her original writing so people can see & maybe explain it to me. LOL!

Ingredients For *** mom's chop suey ***

  • 1 1/2 lb
    meat (beef, pork, chicken or turkey)
  • oil
  • salt
  • sugar
  • soy sauce, low sodium
  • flour
  • 1/4 jar
    molasses
  • water
  • 2
    onions, chopped into big pieces
  • 1 stalk
    celery, chopped
  • 1 can
    bean sprouts
  • 1 bag
    frozen chinese mixed vegetables
  • 1 jar
    sliced mushrooms

How To Make *** mom's chop suey ***

    Cook on low heat, meat & add oil so meat won't stick, about 5 minutes. Let set after cooked, 20 minutes. Cut meat into small pieces. Toss in flour. Set aside.

    In bowl, salt, soy sauce, sugar; mix well. Simmer in pan.

    Add meat to sauce mixture, add onion & celery, cook until tender, about 20 minutes.

    Mix in cup, molasses & water; mix well pour over meat/vegetable mixture. Add sprouts, mixed chinese vegetables & mushrooms, cook until warmed through.
