Ingredients For mississippi chicken

  • 6
    bone in chicken thighs skin removed
  • 1 md
    onion diced
  • 1 pkg
    au jus gravy mix
  • 1 pkg
    ranch dressing mix
  • 1/4 c
    chopped pepperoncini peppers
  • 1/2 c
    juice from the pepperoncini
  • 1/2 c
    chicken stock
  • 1 stick
    butter sliced into pieces
  • fresh parsley

How To Make mississippi chicken

    Add onions to the bottom of a crock pot. Top them with the chicken.
  • 2
    Sprinkle both packages over top the chicken Top with the Pepperoncini. Pour the chicken stock and pepperoncini juice over chicken.

    Lay the butter pats all over. Place the lid and and cook on low for 8 hours.

    After the cooking time the chicken will be falling off the bone. Remove the chicken to board and shred. Remove the peppers with a slotted spoon.

    Strain the broth in the crock pot through a fine mesh strainer and then put through a fat separater.

    Place the gravy in a saucepan and bring to a boil and let it reduce to desired consistency. You can also use a thickener if you want.

    Serve over mashed potatoes with the shredded chicken pepperoncini peppers the gravy and garnish with parsley
