These are my family's "holiday" waffles, although I make them throughout the year. Eating these waffles give you a warm, safe feeling, like a perfect (breakfast) comfort food. I sometimes make them with fried chicken for a Chicken and Waffles dinner.

2 call-purpose flour

1 tspcoarse kosher salt

4 tspbaking powder

2 Tbspsugar

1/2 tspcinnamon

1/2 tspfreshly grated nutmeg

2eggs

3/4 cwarm milk

3/4 cwarm eggnog

1/3 cbutter, melted

3/4 tsppure vanilla extract

3/4 tspvanilla butter & nut flavoring by mccormick
How To Make mellina's eggnog waffles

1In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar; set aside. Preheat waffle iron to desired temperature.

2Add the warm milk, eggnog, melted butter, egg and vanillas into the flour mixture; beat until blended.

3Ladle the batter into a preheated waffle iron. Cook the waffles until golden brown and crisp.

4TIP(S): You can purchase canned eggnog and have these waffles year-round.
