Ingredients For mary's vinegar chicken

2 Tbspolive oil

3 3/4 lgwhole chicken, quartered

salt
-
freshly ground black pepper

2 Tbspbutter
-
4 clovegarlic, peeled and halved

2 csherry vinegar

fresh basil leaves
How To Make mary's vinegar chicken

1Preheat over to 450 degrees. In a large ovenproof skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until smoking.

2Season chicken with salt and pepper.

3Place chicken pieces skin-side down in the pan and sear until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Add butter and garlic cloves and cook 2 more minutes.

4Add vinegar (carefully)

5Turn chicken over and put pan in oven. Cook for 20 to 30 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer indicates 160 degrees. Garnish with basil. Serve with french fries or mash potatoes.
