I had tandoori chicken at an indian restaurant one time and loved it and wanted to copy it. So, I fooled around in the kitchen with chicken and different spices until I finally got it to taste just about the same as the restaurants. Enjoy!

Ingredients For juicy tandoori chicken

  • 1 c
    low-fat, plain yogurt, ( do not use greek yogurt.)
  • 3 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp
    ground ginger, or grated ginger
  • 4 tsp
    paprika
  • 1 Tbsp
    curry powder
  • 1-1/2 tsp
    turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 8
    good sized chicken drumsticks
  • 3
    scallions, sliced for garnish

How To Make juicy tandoori chicken

    Spray a baking sheet w/ cooking spray. In lg plastic zip-lock bag, combine yogurt, garlic, ginger, paprika, curry powder, turmeric and cayenne pepper. Add salt & pepper to taste.

    Prick drumsticks all over w/ a fork. Add chicken to plastic bag. Seal, marinate 20 mins. Heat oven to 425. Remove chicken from marinade.

    Place chicken on baking sheet. Cook, turning once, for 35 mins or until juices run clear and chicken is cooked through. Top w/ scallions.
