This was one of those once a week recipes when I was raising my children. It is especially good when served with mashed potatoes because it makes its own gravy! I've also tried this recipe with chicken breast for those white meat lovers. Still good but the flavor of the gravy doesn't quit get all the way through the breast like it does with the leg quarters.

Ingredients For italian baked chicken

  • 4 to 6
    chicken leg quarters
  • 1 pkg
    mccormick italian style spaghetti sauce mix with mushrooms
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 can
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 can
    water

How To Make italian baked chicken

  • 1
    Arrange leg quarters in baking dish.
  • 2
    Sprinkle top of chicken with brown sugar and spaghetti sauce mix.

    In small mixing bowl, blend soup with water. Pour over chicken.
  • 4
    Bake in a 350 Oven for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes.
