Hunan chicken is traditionally spicy but Barbara's version is pleasantly mild. The sauce is tangy with a little bit of a sweet taste and a hint of heat. Garlic and ginger add a ton of fresh flavor to the chicken. The chicken is so tender it really soaks up the flavors from the sauce. If you prefer things a bit spicy, add more sambal oelek. An easy meal served with fluffy rice and Asian veggies.

Ingredients For hunan chicken

4boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into strips

2 lglimes

1 cHoisin sauce

1/3 coyster sauce

1/4 csoy sauce

1/4 cdry sherry

1/4 choney
-
1 Tbspsambal oelek
-
1/4 cfresh ginger, minced

10 clovegarlic, minced

2shallots, minced

chopped cilantro, for garnish
How To Make hunan chicken

1Mix all ingredients together except for the cilantro. Let marinate for 1 hour.

2Pour chicken and marinade into a large saucepan. Cook until the chicken is done and the sauce is thickened. 7 to 10 minutes.

3Serve over rice, rice sticks, or angel hair pasta. Garnished with cilantro.
