Ingredients For honey bourbon bbq chicken, turkey or duck breasts

  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 c
    onion, minced
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 c
    ketchup
  • 1 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    molasses
  • 1 c
    honey
  • 1 Tbsp
    dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
    bourbon
  • 6
    natural bone-in/skin-on chicken, turkey or duck breasts
  • 1 Tbsp
    kosher salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    black pepper

How To Make honey bourbon bbq chicken, turkey or duck breasts

    Melt butter in a saucepan over med heat. Add onion & garlic & saute until soft, about 4 minutes. Add the next 7 ingredients. Reduce heat to a simmer & cook slowly for 20 minutes; until the sauce thickens. Stir in bourbon.

    Prepare a med-hot fire in the grill.

    Mix salt & pepper together. Sprinkle ove chicken & under the skin. Grill chicken about 10 minutes per side or until the internal temp reaches 165 degrees F. Reserve 1 C. of BBQ Sauce. Brush chicken lightly with remaining sauce & cook for 2 minutes longer.

    Let chicken rest 5-10 minutes before serving.

    Place chicken on a platter & cover loosely with foil until ready to serve.
