Need a new way to prepare chicken? Try this honey baked chicken. Very easy to make, once baked the chicken tastes similar to a General Tso chicken. There's a bit of sweetness and spice. Simmering the sauce and pouring it over the baked chicken, punches up the flavors when serving.

Ingredients For honey baked chicken

  • 5-6 lb
    chicken breast pieces (or whatever chicken pieces you like)
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 1/2 c
    honey
  • 1/4 tsp
    prepared mustard
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    curry powder

Test Kitchen Tips
If you're going to reduce the sauce, we suggest adding an extra 1/4 cup of honey to the sauce to thicken it up a little. We used a combination of chicken pieces for testing.
  • Chicken pieces in a baking dish.

    Place chicken in baking pan.
  • Sauce ingredients in a bowl.

    Combine the remaining ingredients.
  • Source poured over the chicken pieces.

    Pour over chicken.
  • Baking dish covered in foil and baking in the oven.

    Bake, covered with foil, at 350 F for the first 30 minutes.
  • Continuing to bake uncovered.

    Uncover, baste and bake for another 30 minutes.
  • Reducing the sauce.

    If you'd like you can pour the sauce into a saucepan. Simmer down to about half and then use it to pour over your chicken when served.
