This makes for a great meal any time of year. You can put in all shrimp, all chicken or all sausage. We like it best with a little bit of all 3 meats and alot of okra for a very hearty dish.

Ingredients For gumbo

2onions, sliced
-
1green pepper, diced
-
1-2 pkgfrozen cut okra or 1-2 lbs fresh, stemmed & cut into 1" pieces

2 Tbspbutter
-
3 cwater
-
1 tsphot sauce
-
2 Tbspflour
-
1 candiced tomatoes
-
1 tspsalt
-
1/4 tsppepper
-
1/8 tspgarlic powder
-
1bay leaf
-
1-2 lbany combination of the following: shrimp, diced chicken and/or sliced sausage
How To Make gumbo

1Saute vegetable in butter until done.

2Add flour & stir until bubbly.

3Remove from heat & stir in all ingredients, except shrimp.

4Simmer, uncovered for 45 minutes on low.

5Add shrimp & cook until no longer pink.

6Remove the bay leaf & discard.

7Serve over cooked rice.
