Ingredients For crispy fried chicken with gravy

  • FRIED CHICKEN
  • 4
    bone-in chicken thighs
  • 1 Tbsp
    mustard powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    flour
  • `1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 c
    vegetable oil
  • GRAVY
  • 1/4 c
    flour
  • 2 c
    chicken stock
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 2 Tbsp
    black pepper

How To Make crispy fried chicken with gravy

    Dry the chicken thighs. Season with the mustard powder, garlic powder, and salt.

    Mix the flour with the baking powder. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture and set it on a rack. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes.

    Add the oil to a skillet. Once the oil is hot add the chicken and brown each side and continue to turn the chicken and keep cooking until the chicken juices run clean. Remove the chicken to a plate.

    Pour out all but 1/4 oil from the pan. Add the flour and whisk, and continue to cook 2 minutes.

    Add the chicken stock and heavy cream. Whisk until thickened. Season with pepper. Serve the gravy with the chicken.
