Ingredients For crescent chicken casserole

  • 1/2 c
    chopped celery
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 3 c
    chicken, cooked and chopped
  • 1(8oz)
    can water chestnuts,drained
  • 1 can
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1(4oz)
    can sliced mushrooms,drained
  • 1/2 c
    mayonnaise or yogurt,plain
  • 1/4 c
    sour cream
  • 1(8oz)
    package crescent rolls
  • topping:
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 c
    almonds, slivered

How To Make crescent chicken casserole

  • 1
    Saute celery and onion in butter until softened.Heat next 6 items until bubbly,then mix with celery-onion mixture.

    Put in a 9 by 13 inch greased pan,then separate crescent rolls into 2 rectangles.Lay over mixture

    Mix the topping ingredients and sprinkle over top.

    Bake at 350 degrades for 50 minutes.Serve hot.
