Ingredients For cordon bleu chicken casserole

    cubed fully cooked ham
  • 4
    (all-white meat) breaded chicken breasts,sliced
  • 30
    (all-white meat) popcorn chicken
  • 6
    (all-white meat) chicken tenders,sliced
  • 1 3/4 c
    (4 ounces) shredded swiss cheese
  • 1
    large carrot,chopped
  • 1/2 c
    butter,melted
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    seasoned pepper
  • 1 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1 3/4 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    whipped cream cheese
  • TOPPING:
  • 1 1/2 c
    soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c
    shredded swiss cheese
  • 1/4 c
    butter,melted

How To Make cordon bleu chicken casserole

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    In a large nonstick skillet,saute ham for 4-5 minutes or until browned;drain and pat dry.Meanwhile,in a greased 2-quart baking dish,layer sliced breaded chicken,popcorn chicken,sliced chicken tenders,cheese and ham;set aside.

    In a large saucepan,saute carrots in butter until tender.Stir in flour,pepper and nutmeg until blended.Gradually stir in milk and cream cheese.Bring to a boil;cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.Pour over chicken mixture.

    Combine topping ingredients;sprinkle over the top.Bake,uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
