Ingredients For chicken velvet

  • 1 1/2 lb
    boneless chicken thighs cut into pieces
  • salt and white pepper
  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 c
    fresh mushrooms chopped
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 1/2 c
    chicken stock
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 2 tsp
    traders joes mushroom and company umami seasoning (opt)
  • 1 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh parsley chopped

How To Make chicken velvet

  • 1
    Season the chicken with salt and white pepper Add oil to a large skillet. Add the chicken and cook until browned. Add the mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes. Add the flour and cook 2 minutes. Pour in the chicken stock and cream.

    Add the Umami seasoning if using. Simmer 10 minutes. Add the shredded cheese and simmer until cheese is melted.

    Serve over fettucine or egg noodles and garnish with parsley.
