Ingredients For chicken stew - ethiopian style

1 lbboneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut in 1-inch cubes

2 Tbspghee

2 mdyellow onions, chopped

2garlic cloves, minced

1 Tbspfresh ginger, grated

1 tspturmeric

1/4 tspfenugreek and cardamom

1/8 tspnutmeg

2 Tbspberbere (or to your liking)

1 Tbspsmoked paprika

1 cwater

How To Make chicken stew - ethiopian style

1Drizzle the chicken with lemon juice and sprinkle with salt. Set aside.

2Over medium heat, melt ghee in a dutch oven. Add onion, garlic, ginger, and spices. Saute until onions are tender, about 5 minutes.

3Add water, and bring to a simmer. Add the chicken, turning to coat - return to a simmer for approximately 20 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
